Some quick thanks. If I have not seen you since my birthday in November thanks for all the gifts, I had a great party and Elmo is almost as cool as Dada. I have gotten even cuter according to Momma and Dada says I look just like him but with Mama's eyes. He says he can never say no to those eyes.

to update everyone I am walking now, just toddling along.

I will tell you all about my trip in another post. This is just a quick note because Mommy said I would. I have so much catching up to do with everybody but for now lets talk about one of my favorite things, food. I love to eat. When Dada has time again which he says will be soon we will sit at the computer and tell you all about stuff.

Dada says he is on the Michael Jacob diet because I eat all his food when we go out. See Dada orders for me and himself and then I eat mine and his, so I grow and gain weight and Dada well Dada loses weight.

Two of my favorite things are breakfast with Dada and Oopa. Dada picks Oopa up at his store in the morning and we go to the coffee shop. I wait in the truck under Dada's watchful eye. When they come back Oopa brings me a crumpet with cream cheese. It is so yummy. I love my new teeth because I can eat the same food as Dada.

Then there is Mexican night. I love Mexican food. They give me green stuff call guacamole. I love to eat it, when it gets in my mouth. Momma lets me feed myself now so I can get the green stuff all over me and in my hair and it is so much fun. Then Dada has to bath me, I love the bath to, so it it a double bonus night.

Last night we went out for Mexican. Dada ordered my a quesadia which was yummy with the soggy french fries. I eat all the guacamole, but Dada fed me so I did not make a mess. Then I started on Dada's dinner. I had rice and half an empinada and two chicken fluatas. Oops now that I think about it I do not remember what Dada eat. Hum maybe he forgot to order himself dinner, how odd. Well my dinner was very yummy and at the end this nice lady gave me a balloon, which got lost, but no I did not care much at the time.

I love to eat if Dada eats it I will to. Cucumber soup and Oysters are very yummy. Momma says no more seafood till I am older and was not pleased at Dada for that one but it was yum yum.

More to come,

Bye,
Michael Jacob Little Man Extraordinaire

Birthday boy and other stuff

I have completed my first year of life. I can do all kinds off neat stuff that I have learned in the last 6 months. I can crawl really fast, and I can stand if I try really hard. A lot has happened in the last few weeks. This may be long but I will tell you all about it.

I got shoes, yes mommy took me to get shoes. I now get to wear these brown boots like Daddies walking boots. They are really great, although a little heavy on my feat. It is also funny that Mommy yells at Daddy all the time now, don’t put him one the bed he has his shoes on. Also for some reason Mommy gets really upset when I put them in my mouth.

I have learned that normal is all about what every one else does, so I sent a memo out to all the other babies normal is now nobody sleeps through the night, it works for me. Ferber is still a diaper full of the yucky stuff. Daddy tells me that he finds new research everyday that proves Dr Ferber is just wrong and when Mommy asked my Dr. he seemed to say without saying that Ferber is a poopy head.

Friday just passed was my one year birthday, everybody made a great big deal. Grandma, Popop, Mommy, Aunt Jodi, My Madison, ;-) My Sarah ;-) took me to see the Wiggles. We all went in Aunt Jodi’s really big mini van. When I got in the van I got a big surprise. I got to turn around. I got to sit like everyone else and see the whole world. I like this much better then being backwards. The Wiggles were really cool. I love the loud Music and all the lights. I will tell you more about the Wiggles another time. We went back to Aunt Jodi’s and I got to watch Madison open my presents. Daddy told me afterwards that this is normal she opens everybody’s presents. I got this great drum that I can bang on and it talks to me and plays music. I also got other big boxes with pictures on them that somehow Daddy is supposed to do something with and make me really cool stuff.

Saturday I went to the Dr. I’d rather not talk about it.

Then Sunday morning Daddy and I hung out and built this car thing that Aunt Amy and Uncle Jeffrey got me. Daddy had some trouble with the direction he said they were written in Chinese, but eventually he got it together. It makes cool noises and looks cool but it is kinda useless. It has no seat belt and does not stay straight. Daddy says that is because I do not know how to drive yet and it will be fun in about six months. He also said that if Aunt Amy read the box she would have known that. I did learn what Daddy does to the big colorful boxes. He pulls lots of stuff out of them and builds me things, the little man approves of big colorful boxes as presents. Around 9:30 Daddy took me in for my nap a little early, he said he needed to shower. I was not ready for my nap so after some discussion Daddy decided that I would have to come in the shower. Showers are great. Daddy holds me and the water falls from the top on our heads. Then Daddy soaps us all up and the water washes it away. After my shower I was ready for a nap. When I woke up Daddy dressed me and put my shoes on and then Nanna and Uppa came over and we loaded up Nanna’s car. Daddy and Uppa turned my seat around and then loaded me in it. I knew something special was happening because they kept saying we were going to my birthday party. When we got there lots people were there and then more people came and they all said happy birthday to me. Then Elmo came Elmo is a big red monster from the TV and my toys. Elmo is huge. I never thought Elmo would be so big. I had only seen Elmo in person once before and that was on stage so I did not think he was that big. He has soft fuzzy fur and he played with me and held me on his lap. We also played with a round blanket they called a parachute. Did I say Elmo is huge and furry. After the parathingy we went under a rope and then I had a bottle on Elmo’s lap. It was a lot of fun. Sometime during this party mommy thought I should nap, yeah right silly mommy. I found a shaky rattle Mommy called a moracca in the crib and made lots of noise. Mommy took me back to the party and I crawled everywhere banging moracca. Everybody sang to me an I blew on candles and I was happy. Later Madison opened more presents with me and I got clothes and more boxes that Daddy will put together. I got really great presents and I want to thank everybody, for celebrating me birthday with me. I got a cool blue coat that I wore to school today. Daddy says he will get pictures and video up on my website shortly. I was very tired after my party and went to sleep. I have a lot more to say but Daddy said I should save it for next time.

Shoes and sleeping

I have recently become mobile. Yes I have discovered that I can pull myself along surfaces with my arms. My feet do not yet want to work synchronies with my arms so I just pull myself around with my arms for now. Mommy and Daddy have been putting me on floors a lot and letting me practice. This brings me to my question, what do you people do to the bottom of your shoes? You people have got to clean you shoes once in a while.

I was in a bar, the other night; you know the usually dancing on the bar, being cute and trying to amuse the ladies, oh and throwing red wine that is just so much fun. Dad gave out little cards to people after I painted them with wine it was the best. I think I will ask Mommy and Daddy to take me to bars more often. Oh and congratulations to Amanda and Rick on their engagement.

This brings me to another issue Daddy was reading a newspaper article to me the a few nights ago on babies and sleep habits. I know most of it was most likely very interesting to him but one thing caught my attention. Letting babies cry in their cribs for ever extending periods of time first 5 minutes then 10 then 15. If I ever get to meet this Dr. Ferber I am going to move my bowels on his head, and hope Mommy gave me prunes that day. This guy does not know the first thing about babies and I think his Mommy dropped him one to many times or maybe she did not hold him enough. Now Elizabeth Pantley and William Sears have a better clue. We do not like to cry, and when we do we are trying to tell you something, so get your butt over to use and fix it. Letting us cry is only going to make us pissed off angry adults. Now I understand Dr. Ferber is not a happy dude so he wants all use little people to grew up pissed off so he has company, not going to happen dude, we are on to you. In conclusion if you had not noticed I am a big proponent of the no cry method and like co-sleeping. If you want to debate this with me come over around 3:00 AM and give me a bottle while we discus it.

Michael Jacob
Little Man Extraordinaire

I talked with my Daddy as to why we have not been sitting at the computer recently. He told that it had to do with our future. Great I am 7 months old what is he talking about? He went on to tell me that he bought a Dry Cleaning store in Hempstead at 391 Fulton Ave which is really Hempstead Turnip. It is three stores East of Clinton Ave. Which is the continuation of Glen Cove Rd South of Old Country, whatever all that means. He works from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM except for Saturdays when he closes at 5:00 PM. He is very tired when he gets home and has not had the energy to go down to the computer.

He tells me that in a year or two things will get much better and we will all spend a lot more time together.

He invites all of you to visit whenever your Day allows.

I guess this is good since I have been told that work is directly related to me getting bottles and clean diapers. I am a bit confused with this since I do not think my diapers or bottles get Dry Cleaned, whatever that is. I have been told that it has to do with money and that when I get big I will understand. Whatever, it sounds a lot like my nemesis development.

When he gets a chance he read to me from a big book with great pictures that Mathias got me called the Hobbit. He told me this is our second time reading it but I do not remember. We are reading about Hobbits now and I like them. Hobbits eat five times a day and take lots of naps and just enjoy stuff, kinda like me. I do not know why they need thick soles on their feet, they should just get someone to carry them if they do not want to wear shoes, silly Hobbits.

Well I have said enough, I hope Daddy has translated all this properly.

Be good or not, he he,
MJ

Yesterday was my first day at school. I had a good time. I have my own crib there. It is not as cool as my room at home, but it has my name over it and cool stuff around. Mommy put some of my things in it to make me feel a little more at home.

Those silly people tried to give me a warm bottle. They must be English or something warming a man's bottle. Even Little mans know bottles are best cold.

I met an older women in school. She came out in August. She crawls and sits up and is very cute. Her name is Grace. Daddy says older women are good teachers ;-). I am getting much better at sitting up and I want to learn to crawl, It is just that I have a problem getting my knees under me.

I tested my new teachers today. I exploded out my diaper. They made funny faces but handled it pretty well. I got cleaned by a cute lady, not as cute as Mommy, and she changed my onesie. I will explain onesies in another post.

So my first two days out without Mommy and Daddy have been ok. I am just learning my new surroundings and showing them all how cute I am. I will lure them in and them well that will be another story.

More later ...
Sleeping

Sleeping is good, but... I am a little man, therefore all must do my bidding especially my parents. At night I enjoy taking four to five hour naps and then waking screaming. The screaming is just for effect, the effect being Mommy come rushing in with a bottle. She stands hunched over my crib in what seams to be the oddest position and holds the bottle while I eat. I can hold the bottle myself but would you if somebody would do it for you. I eat my fill sometimes a whole bottle, sometimes three sips, but most of the time somewhere in the middle. We would not want Mommy to feel like she came in for nothing, okay sometimes just for giggles. When I am ready I push the bottle away, grab my little towel and wipe my face. I then role over and go back to sleep.

The other night I surprised everybody and slept for 7 hours or that is what Mommy told everybody. I am not to sure about this hour thing, but I will figure it out.

Eventually I will grew tired of this game and sleep as long as Mommy does but right now it is fun.

Oh and do not think I do not notice my Dad sneaking into my room in the middle of the night to make sure I am still breathing. Hey dude I'm fine relax.

The other thing I have noticed about sleeping is it is more fun to do in groups. Sleeping in the big bed with Mommy and Daddy is much more fun than sleeping alone in my crib. I sleep right between them and anytime I want to be amused I punch or kick Daddy in the back and he wakes up and plays with me. This is the best. They keeping talking about something called development and sticking me back in my crib. If I ever find who is responsible for this development thing I am going to make sure I pee all over them. We will talk more about my nemesis development in a later post.

MJ
